Healing starts in the soil
Kindness Farm is a multicultural, queer-led regenerative community farm in SE Portland.
We teach kids and adults how to grow food and care for the earth. We donate 100% of the healthy, culturally meaningful fruits and veggies we grow to hungry neighbors.
Together, we tend to a rare third space where people from different backgrounds come together to build a future where we care for our land, our food, and each other.
“Today I learned that nature loves me.”

Our impact
Every year, we provide access to land and education for thousands of children and adults in Portland. We also distribute thousands of pounds of fresh, healthy, nutrient-dense, culturally-relevant produce to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. All while preserving and regeneratively tending 2.5 urban acres full of trees, perennials, flowers, medicine plants, and wildlife.
Since 2021, we’ve…
Provided access to land & education for 7,484 kids & adults.
Grown 38,000 pounds of produce that provided 85,332 meals, produce boxes, and free food pantries to 18,000 hungry neighbors.
Engaged a committed community to create a healing space with 37,500+ volunteer hours of many loving hands tending this land.
“If it wasn’t for Kindness Farm, our team would not be able to provide nutritious vegetables to our local community.”
- Claudia Cedeno, Impact NW
Our programs
Our mission
At Kindness Farm, we believe tending land together can nourish people, heal ecosystems, and rebuild our sense of belonging to each other and the earth.
Through food, learning, land care, and community, we are building that future locally: one harvest, one child, one community day, and one act of care at a time.
“This is the one place of calm in my life.”
- Youth participant from Afghan Refugee Girl Group
